Director, Human Resources, Western Hemisphere and Corporate – American Bureau of Shipping

Njsane Courtney is an experienced HR executive and former U.S. Army officer. He brings nearly two decades of experience and passion for human resources, leaving very few stones unturned in his HR career. He is the Director of Human Resources for the Western Hemisphere and Corporate teams at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) which includes operations in North and South America, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Prior to that, he was the Global Director of Human Resources for ABS Group, an independent subsidiary of ABS.

Before joining ABS, Njsane earned his HR stripes at other large corporate entities like Pacific Drilling, Champion Technologies, Baker Hughes, and AIG. The U.S. Army was Njsane’s first real job. He was fortunate to have a great mentor who taught him “servant leadership.” Being in the military also taught Njsane about “esprit de corps,” or the feeling of pride, fellowship and common loyalty within a team.

Njsane has a special talent for quickly building collaborative relationships with all levels, from the frontline worker to the C-suite officer. Throughout his career, he has managed and supported large, complex organizations with globally dispersed employees and staff. He loves to coach, mentor, and develop teams and has many examples of success in creating cultures of collaboration and helping teams achieve workforce excellence.

A proud Girl Dad to a precious toddler, Mikaela, Njsane is married and lives in Houston, Texas. In his free time, which anyone with a toddler knows is extremely limited, he enjoys gaming, reading sci-fi novels and a good glass of scotch. He is a U.S. veteran and graduate from the University of Houston with a BBA in Computer Information Systems.

Morgan is passionate about helping clients. She shares her experiences, bringing possibilities to life. She excels at deeply understanding each client’s unique needs, implementing practical solutions that increase the success of mobility programs.

Morgan leverages her experiences advising clients to help AIRINC grow and to better serve all clients. Responsible for the strategic intersection of marketing, business development, and product development, she ensures AIRINC’s solutions meet clients’ needs today and in the future. Her role includes developing AIRINC’s thought leadership, leading the global advisory function, and setting AIRINC’s global growth strategy.

As a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of global mobility experience, she has supported companies across all industries. Morgan is a frequent speaker and published author on global mobility issues, including innovation, international compensation, and leading practice trends. She recently created an In-Talent Group whose purpose is to inspire talent innovation amongst forward-thinking mobility professionals. Morgan holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Boston University, and she is based at AIRINC’s headquarters office in Cambridge, MA.

Debi Dault, President, Dault Global Solutions formed her company after many years in the Global Workforce. Her career started in staffing right out of college with a marketing degree from Texas Wesleyan University. She quickly learned how to recruit, interview and hire hundreds of people a week. “It was a great learning environment. You were given the empowerment to run your branch like it was your own company.” During her 13 years there, she had 11 promotions where she learned invaluable business acumen. Her journey in staffing ended at the executive management level on the Board of Directors.

After leaving staffing, Debi worked in the global mobility industry where she used her background in Human Resources to help Fortune 500 companies of all industries relocate their high potential employees all over the world. Her experience in mergers and acquisitions gives her a unique skill to go into unfamiliar territory and quickly assess strengths and weaknesses to formulate a plan of action. She spends her time now helping companies get on the path to success. When not working, she is involved in SHRM as a volunteer leader at the state level and is the Conference Director of Texas SHRM Global HR Conference held annually in Houston, TX. Between her teenage son, husband, PTA and Church, Debi is happily busy at living her best life!

Silke Dundon manages all global immigration activities for Dell. A native of Freiburg, Germany, Silke has held domestic and international positions in HR & Immigration with several well-known multinational organizations. Following an expat assignment in Singapore and US for Deutsche Bank AG, Silke came to Dell via the acquisition of Perot Systems by Dell in November of 2009. Since then, she has been leading global immigration for Dell. In September of 2016, Dell purchased EMC and by close of the acquisition, Silke was handed global immigration for both sides of the house. Her global team of immigration specialists support Silke with the entire immigration management activity at Dell. Silke is a native German speaker, is married and lives with her family in McKinney, Texas.

Ryan began his career with Fragomen as an Associate in 1999. As his career progressed within the firm, he managed the inception and ongoing operational development of our Singapore office. Ryan was also appointed the Senior Client Services Manager within the Asia Pacific region.

In 2005, Ryan took a position as the Director of Global Immigration Services with a well-known relocation company. He subsequently joined a leading global immigration consulting firm, where he held the position of Vice President of Global Operations.

Ryan rejoined Fragomen in October 2007, as the Director of International Alliances and Client Services. In this role, he led the firm’s Co-Counsel Network and its expansion efforts in the EMEA region.

From 2010 through 2014, Ryan served as an Associate, and managed the firm’s U.S.-based Global Business Visa, Passport, Document Services and Consular Teams. In this capacity, Ryan supervised the preparation and filing of all business and employment visa applications filed in the U.S. on behalf of clients. He also oversaw the procurement and authentication of documents required in support of client immigration applications, including obtaining personal records and corporate documents as well as coordinating legalizations, apostilles and translations.

Ryan relocated to Houston, TX in August 2013, where he continued to manage the Global Business Visa and Consular Teams. In September 2014, Ryan undertook a secondment to a well-known oil field services company as the Immigration Program Lead. In this capacity, Ryan successfully implemented and co-managed a comprehensive global immigration program. In July 2019, Ryan was promoted to Partner and is currently managing client relationships in the oil and gas, food and agriculture, technology and relocation industries.

Experienced International Human Resources / Mobility Professional with a demonstrated history in all aspects of the international HR world, with particular emphasis on creation and implementation of global programs to support the needs of large multinational matrix organizations. Lisa is currently serves as the Global Director of Operations and Global Mobility where she supports a matrix organization of 18,000 employees across 70 countries, with responsibility for creation of an international HR program to unify a historically decentralized company and implement cost savings through innovation and transformation. Lisa oversees the standardization and globalization of all international HR policies, processes and documentation supporting the employee’s lifecycle, including employee mobility, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, compensation benchmarking and delivery, performance management, training and development, and employee departure. Along with the responsibility for execution and delivery of Weatherford HR Shared Service Centers, based in 3 locations with 60 remote team members tasked with addressing all HR transactional activities and tier 1 and tier 2 employee queries

Joseph has been a part of the BDO team since 2010, with prior Big Four experience. He has extensive knowledge in International Assignment Services, Global Mobility and Equity taxation.

Joseph and has worked with BDO clients to resolve matters in both tax related compliance and consulting areas of practice, including policy design, training, and implementation as well as establishing himself as an arbitrator between taxpayers and tax authorities. Joseph has introduced various expatriate and foreign national policies to a multitude of clients while holding consultations with human resource and finance departments, as well as other company personnel and employees. Joseph’s expertise stems from local and Big Four firms while working with clients in the sectors of financial, automotive, manufacturing, human resources, technology, and oil and gas.

Joseph double majored and minored at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in the fields of Accounting, Finance, and Political Science.

Stephanie Paver is a partner at Foster LLP in our Austin office. She works primarily with employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petition processes.

Stephanie graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Stephanie’s experience includes filing nonimmigrant and immigrant employment-based visa petitions with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), including: H-1B’s, L-1’s, TN’s, O-1’s, H-2A’s and Immigrant Petitions for Multi-National Managers/Executives, Aliens of Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Researchers, National Interest Waivers, Schedule A Group II, and PERM Labor Certification. Stephanie assists corporate clients and individuals with nonimmigrant and immigrant visa application processes at various Consulates and Embassies worldwide in support of visa issuance, including preparation of 212(d)(3)(A) Waivers of Inadmissibility. She has filed successful responses to Requests for Additional Evidence issued by USCIS, and to Audits issued by the Department of Labor (DOL).

Stephanie has counseled corporate clients regarding immigration matters related to mergers and acquisitions. She is a frequent speaker at immigration events, including informational seminars for HR professionals, and continuing legal education events for attorneys. Stephanie is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Ronii Rizzo heads the BDO USA Global Payroll and Employment Tax Group. In this role Ronii aids clients with various services in setting up, reviewing, advising and supporting US and global payroll obligations especially in the cases of cross border and traveling employees and contractors. She also serves as the Chair for the Customized Payroll Services Center of Excellence which coordinates a global team of BDO payroll professionals for benchmarking and detailing best practices as related to payroll compliance obligations. Ronii has experience in the practice of expatriate tax and has used this expertise to bridge the gap between the world of tax and payroll compliance. Ronii is a frequent speaker and teacher for many professional organizations such as the American Payroll Association, Financial and Tax Executives Institute, and Global Payroll Management Institute.

Benjamin Schatz is a senior attorney at Foster LLP in our Houston office. His practice is primarily focused on representing investors and multinational corporations in their immigrant and nonimmigrant processes.

Benjamin graduated from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and received both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. Benjamin has represented both asylum-seekers and Special Immigrant Juveniles on a pro bono basis, and he previously coordinated the immigration program of a major San Antonio non-profit organization. He has also participated in numerous free legal clinics and naturalization workshops and has volunteered for immigration-focused call-in programs.

Prior to receiving his law degree and joining the firm, Benjamin gained valuable business experience as an auditor for one of the “Big Four” international accounting firms. Benjamin is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and State Bar of Texas.

Angela Shaw is an award-winning HR professional focused on developing the next generation of HR leaders. She is the 2019 Workies HR Director of the Year, made the 2020 Most Inclusive HR Leader list, and is the 2020 TXSHRM Volunteer Leader of the Year. She is a force to be reckoned with as a volunteer leader, people advocate, diversity inclusionist, introvert, speaker, student, and teacher. As an avid learner, Angela is never afraid to ask the hard questions. Best of all, she shares her truths and experiences to connect, influence, and inspire the people around her.

When Angela is not changing the world of HR with her talents, she is speaking on the importance of HR, diversity, inclusion, and other related people topics. Not only does she speak about it, but she also lives it in her everyday life. Angela is actively involved in groups and organizations such as AHRMA, TXSHRM and SHRM where she uses her platform to help change people’s thinking about critical topics like good HR and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Currently, Angela is the Vice President of Human Resources at Campus Advantage, a student housing company where they create successful people, who help create successful communities. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Austin Center for Professional Education where she teaches about the essentials of HR. Prior to her role at Campus Advantage, Angela has had a range of roles in HR within a variety of industries, adding to her rounded experience and expertise. She has also served as a volunteer Board Member for several other organizations including the YWCA of Greater Austin and PelotonU.

Jeanie is a Managing Director in the expatriate tax practice in Houston, TX. She has 30 years experience in the area of expatriate taxation of which 22 years were with a Big 4 firm.

Jeanie has managed a variety of multi-national engagements, ranging from less than 5 assignees to in excess of 2,000 assignees. Throughout her career, her main clients were in the engineering and construction (1,200 US assignees); oil and gas (400 US assignees); and financial services (500 assignees). In addition to US tax compliance, she has also assisted clients in transitions, policy design and implementation, cost projections, tax accruals, treaty interpretations and tax planning. Jeanie understands the need for exemplary client service, as indicated by her client survey results.

Jeanie’s other client responsibilities include working on a variety of clients, differing in size and industry. She is also on a core internal BDO education committee, bringing training ideas to enhance the overall knowledge and quality within the US engagement teams in expatriate taxation.

Jeanie has spent the majority of her career in Houston, but has also worked in New York and was an expatriate in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

David Welch has over 23 years’ experience working with multinational companies in global HR and global assignments/relocation. He lived in Tokyo Japan for 6 years and Bangalore India for 2 years before returning to the U.S. His companies include: KPMG, Ernst & Young and PwC, American Airlines, and Goldman Sachs. He also has his own consulting business. David grew up in Ogden, Utah and earned his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in Business Administration/Management. During his career, he has lived in Utah, Texas, Japan, India, Florida and Arkansas.

David has been a facilitator and panelist for national conferences in the Human Resource and Relocation industry. He is passionate about Management, Human Resources, Global Mobility, U.S. Relocation, and Talent Management.

David’s wife, Shino, is a native Japanese who came to the U.S. to go to college. They met in college and have been married for 28 years. David and Shino have 4 daughters. (Two daughters were born in the U.S., one born in Japan, and one born in India.) In his down time, David likes to play golf, grow lettuce and herbs in his hydroponic farm, and be in the outdoors.
